FBP - Implementation

The qualitative research approach of my FBP made it hard to effectively implement data visualization as the Math, Data and Computing area idealizes. Besides programming scripts, and emotion recognition calculations I did during my FBP, I was, unfortunately, unable to implement this area as much as I hoped. The emotion recognition idea would have been more feasible for the application of data processing and visualization as the accuracy of the recognition increases with more data to reflect upon.

Bachelor courses

To explore a side of Industrial Design I am not all too familiar with, I decided to follow the course Industrial Ecology (0SV20) last year. This course introduced me to an important aspect of designing, we were not aware of. The consequences of the materials used and the ease of breaking a product down for recyclability. We explored all the steps from cradle to cradle that are involved with the production of a Phillips alarm clock.

With the course 'Sensors for Physiology' (DBB170) we developed an assistive system to use while running. The system could provide feedback of the amount of steps taken, speed and time that passed. In this course we were exploring ways to visualize this data to the user, and eventually decided to use auditive feedback.
