Technology & Realization (BA)

FBP - Implementation

Technology and Realization became one of the two areas I focussed on the most within my Final Bachelor Project. Starting off, the focus was on User and Society together with Creativity and Aesthetics, but since the co-designing method became less feasible, I started working more on the overall execution and function of the product. The models as also described in my Creativity and Aesthetics section came to life by the implementation of sensors and magnets. Since the progression in the other sections was slowing down, I enjoyed working on the back-end of my project.

Bachelor courses

During most projects, I was involved in the prototyping and programming part of the project. This allowed me to learn a lot, and understand well what is feasible and what not. But this often resulted in prototypes with simplistic integration of technology. In year three I followed the course 'Circuits' (5ECA0), and 'Sensors for Physiology' (DBB170), and gained confidence in using more complex technology in prototyping and product development.

In terms of bachelor expertise area growth, this is the area I gained most confidence in. This allowed me to experience neglectable stress levels related to the realization of my FBP prototypes.
